Purpose

Any teammate or script can find geometry by layer, not by guessing.

The standard

  • Units: millimeters for facade work; tolerance 0.01 mm. Set in the template; check with _Units.

  • Layer tree: Discipline::System::Element::State, e.g. FAC::CW::Mullion, FAC::CW::Glass::Existing. Prefix set: FAC facade, STR structure, ARC architecture, REF reference/context, TMP scratch (never delivered).

  • Colors by discipline; linetypes by state (existing dashed, new continuous).

  • Blocks for repeated panels/components; block names mirror layer names.

  • User attributes (_Properties → Attribute User Text) carry data for export: panel_id, system_type, width_mm, height_mm — keys match the registry schema (09.04).

  • File naming per 01.05; one model per project phase; _SaveSmall before sharing; purge before delivery.

Anti-patterns

Geometry on Default; color-coding meaning without a layer; data in object names instead of user text.
