Purpose

Every repo is discoverable, protected, and starts from a template.

The standard

  • Repos live in [TEAM: org]; no work code in personal accounts.

  • Private by default. Public requires owner approval and a license file.

  • Created from a template (02.02); name per 01.05; description filled; topics tagged (rhino, revit, web, data).

  • main is protected: PR required, 1 approval, CI must pass, no force-push, linear history.

  • Required files: README.md, LICENSE (internal repos: [TEAM: proprietary notice]), .gitignore, CLAUDE.md, .env.example where applicable, CODEOWNERS.

  • Secrets scanning and Dependabot enabled (07.05).

Procedure

  1. Use this template → fill name/description → private.

  2. Settings → Branches → add protection rule for main as above.

  3. Add CODEOWNERS with the tool owner.

  4. Add the repo to the team's project board (03.07) and its wiki catalog page.
