Purpose

Subdomains on [TEAM: primary domain] managed in one place.

The standard

  • DNS is at Squarespace. One person (Matt) makes changes; requests go in #dev.

  • Pattern: <tool>.[TEAM: domain]; internal tools get short names (wiki., panels.).

  • Vercel handles TLS; no manual certificates.

Procedure

  1. Vercel → project → Settings → Domains → add tool.domain.com.

  2. Vercel shows a CNAME target (cname.vercel-dns.com). In Squarespace → Domains → DNS → add CNAME tool → that target. For apex domains use the A record Vercel provides.

  3. Wait for propagation (minutes to an hour); Vercel shows "Valid Configuration".

  4. Add the domain to Supabase Auth redirect URLs (08.01) if the tool has login.

  5. Record the subdomain in 02.05.
