Purpose

Lightweight automation without a full add-in, kept as disciplined as compiled code.

pyRevit

  • Team extension [TEAM: org]/pyrevit-extension with tabs per discipline; one script per folder with script.py, icon.png, and a bundle.yaml title/tooltip.

  • Python 3 engine where possible; note the engine in bundle.yaml.

  • Scripts follow 04.02; use revit.Transaction context managers; forms for UI; no print spam.

  • Users add the extension once via pyRevit Settings → Extensions; updates are pulls.

Dynamo

  • For one-off or user-facing graphs only; anything reused more than a few times becomes a pyRevit script or add-in.

  • Graph hygiene like Grasshopper (10.04): left-to-right, groups, notes, inputs marked Is Input.

  • Stored in the project repo dynamo/ with a screenshot; Dynamo Player-ready.
